The Fitness Centre has an extensive array of cardio, pin-loaded and free weight equipment, meaning everyone from a gym novice right through to the gym junky is catered for, in a pleasant air-conditioned environment.

To ensure you can get as much out of the Fitness Centre as possible, our qualified Personal Trainer can provide fitness appraisals or develop a program suited to you personally and take you through a supervised work-out to help you get and stay on track to reach your health and fitness goals (*conditions apply).

The Irwin Rec offers an approach to meet all your fitness needs and being a member assures that clients receive a highly professional and educated approach to fitness delivery.

We offer very flexible membership options that allow for the changing needs of members and can reduce some of the risks when taking out a long term fitness membership.

The Irwin Rec provides a wide range of classes catering for all fitness levels from the basic beginner to the more experienced fitness enthusiast. Our fully qualified staff are there to help you every step of the way keeping you motivated and ensuring your experience is an enjoyable one. 

All exercise classes can be modified to suit each individual, so if you have an injury or are just getting back into the gym don't be discouraged from taking advantage of our classes. Our qualified trainer can help adjust the exercises to suit your requirements.

We have a variety of classes available to help keep you motivated and to constantly challenge you. We have adapted a rotating class schedule so that each week is different. the weekly class schedule can be accessed via our Facebook page, if you don't enjoy the element of surprise.

Classes Available

HIIT which stands for (High, Intensity, Interval, Training), is a workout designed to burn maximum calories in a shorter period of time. It consists of giving it your max effort in intense bursts of exercise, followed by a quick recovery. 

Smash Fit

Smash fit is a fun filled boxing workout designed to build strength, as well as improve your cardiovascular system. the class is a mix of boxing techniques as well as body weighted exercises to really get the heart rate pumping and your muscles burning.  

Boot Camp

Bootcamp is a class that includes cardio, weight training and full body movements. This is a very versatile session that suits all fitness levels.  

Class X

Class 'X' is a circuit based strength training class that incorporates weighted exercise, along with compound body movements to achieve maximum calorie burning.  

Over 50s Circuit

Did you know that you are never to old to start a strength training program that can prevent a wide range of health conditions such as sarcopenia, osteoporosis, arthritis, hypertension and diabetes? Sessions are available at a low cost and are held in an atmosphere that is fun, enjoyable and welcoming. $6.50 per session (non-members). 

  • Monday - 7:30 am 
  • Wednesday - 7:30 am
  • Friday - 7:30 am (followed by a coffee to finish the week!)
