News

10 August 2021

Moreton Terrace Upgrade

Extensive formwork and concreting works at both the Waldeck Street and Point Leander Drive roundabouts are scheduled to be completed by the end of this week. This will require OVERNIGHT CLOSURES of the roundabouts. Traffic control will be in place to minimise disruption and help drivers follow detours as arrangements change day by day.

Please contact the Visitors Centre for information about bus stop arrangements.

The 4 Stages of the renewal are as detailed below:

STAGE 1 – COMPLETE

STAGE 2 – CONTINUING
Closures are required for formwork and concreting to be undertaken at both the Waldeck Street and Point Leander Drive roundabouts. The remaining asphalting from the Point Leander roundabout to Brand highway will commence once the contractor is available. Asphalting at the roundabouts will also be undertaken at the same time.

STAGE 3 – CONTINUING
Roundabout construction works  in progress this week. Line marking and  signage installation will follow.

STAGE 4 – COMMENCED
Garden reinstatement has commenced, and streetlights are being prepared for installation this month.

The Shire sincerely thanks the community for their cooperation during these works and apologises for any inconvenience.
