Important changes

In line with recent changes under the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Amendment Regulations 2019 the Shire has introduced a new waste management system at the Dongara Transfer Station.

What does this mean for our customers?

  • Our hours of operation will remain the same
  • You will have the option to pay by EFTPOS
  • Improved invoicing for Business and account customers
  • All vehicles will be required to check in with staff at the entrance prior to depositing waste into designated areas so that staff can record:
    • Vehicle registrations of all vehicles entering the site
    •  Types and volume of waste and other material entering site
    •  Types and volume of waste and other material leaving site

Why were the changes required?

The changes will:

  • Improve customer service and provide additional payment options
  • Allow us to comply with our legal environmental obligations
  • Help us provide sustainable waste management services into the future
