2022 Denison Foreshore Sprint and Midwest Show and Shine

The Shire of Irwin's signature event, the 2022 Denison Foreshore Sprint and Midwest Show and Shine is happening next Sunday, September 25! It is an action packed day of cars, racing, motorcycles, food and fun.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to hold such a huge event without some disruptions, so we ask that the community please take note of and respect the following closures and changes.

Road Closures 

Road closures will be in place between the Obelisk on Point Leander Drive and the Roundabout (near Granny’s Beach). The closures will also affect Leitch Street, Samuel Street, Coles Way, George Street and Albatross Lane from 6am to 5pm Sunday September 25. Road closures will be clearly marked, and Traffic Management will be in place.

Parking

Limited parking will be available along the Port Denison Foreshore during the event, Sunday 25th September. It is recommended that you park at the Irwin Recreation Centre located on Ridley Street.

ACROD permit parking will be available on Point Leander Drive for the Midwest Show and Shine and Denison Foreshore Sprint. Please present your ACROD permit to Traffic Control at the Point Leander Drive roundabout and proceed to the designated parking area.

Recreational Fishing Jetty & Marina Precinct 

Access to the Recreational Fishing Jetty, Boat Ramp, Rock Groin and Carpark will be closed from 5pm Saturday, September 24 through to 5.30pm Sunday, September 25.

Pedestrain Crossings 

Predestrain Crossings are limited to designated areas along Point Leander Drive. Pedestrians are not able to cross at any point along the racetrack. Please note that this is for your safety and that of the driver. Pedestrian crossings are clearly identified using signage. Event Marshals will be present for assistance and direction.
