Breaking news

27 July 2021

With fencing removed and most of the paving, kerbing, and asphalting now complete between the roundabouts, people can enjoy a smooth drive along the road and resume strolling along the new footpaths. Intermittent short section road closures will allow the finishing touches. Paving around the Church Street and Point Leander Drive roundabouts will then be undertaken in the next few weeks.

The 4 Stages of the renewal are as detailed below:

STAGE 1 - COMPLETE
STAGE 2 – CONTINUING
The remaining asphalting works between the Point Leander Drive roundabout and Brand Highway will be commence as soon as the asphalting contractor becomes available. Asphalting at the roundabouts will also be undertaken at the same time.

STAGE 3 – CONTINUING
Paving between the two roundabouts is nearing completion. Paving of the roundabouts areas will commence in August. Line marking and signage installation will follow.

STAGE 4 – COMMENCED
Garden reinstatement has commenced, and streetlights are being prepared for installation in August.

The Shire sincerely thanks the community for their cooperation during these works and apologises for any inconvenience.
