Community Perceptions Survey

Results being shared in this week are in regards to the priority areas outlined by the community as ascertained in the feedback for the Community Perceptions Survey. The six key areas identified as being of the highest priority for residents included; sport and recreation facilities, economic development, tourism and job creation, coastal and estuary areas, footpaths and cycle ways, health and community services and the Port Denison Town Centre.

Whilst the satisfaction levels in these areas are still moderate to high, residents feel that these areas are those that need to be prioritised within the short term. In response to these issues, Council recognises that significant work is already underway to ensuring that these key areas are addressed. Relevant plans include the Aquatic Feasibility Study, the Shire of Irwin Economic Development Plan, Tourism Development Plan, Coastal Management Plan, Bicycle Plan, Community Development Plan and the Foreshore Master Plan.
