Community Perceptions Survey

The Shire of Irwin would appreciate all residents completing and returning the 2013 Community Perceptions Survey that is being mailed out this week.

The survey will assist the Shire to consider and develop strategies to meet the communities needs.

Surveys are being processed by an independent company, CATALYSE® and will remain anonymous.

Should you complete and return your survey by the closing date, 8 November 2013, you will go in the draw to win one of three gift cards.

Administration Trainee

We are currently seeking applicants for an Administration Trainee to join the Shire of Irwin team for a 12 month period, to carry out duties in the Administration (4 months), Library/Visitors Centre (4 months) and Recreation Centre (4 months).

2013 Local Government Elections

Please note that all residents are encouraged to compete and return their  Postal Votes to the Shire Office by Friday 18 October 2013.

If you have lost or spoilt your ballot papers or package you can obtain a replacement from the Shire Office—please bring in any papers you do have so we may account for the originally issued documents.

Postal votes may be hand delivered to an Electoral Officer at the nominated Polling Place (Irwin Rec Centre) before 6pm on Election Day however  you will need to ensure you bring your Voting Package with you or you will be required to complete a form to obtain a new package to fill in and submit.

Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Awards

The Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Awards promote national pride, community responsibility and participation by fostering, recognising and celebrating significant contributions to community life and active citizenship in all local government areas of WA.

The Shire of Irwin would like to encourage the community to nominate those who may deserve recognition in the following categories;

Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Award

Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship for a person under 25 years; and

Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Award for a community group or event.

The Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Awards nominations close Friday, 22 November 2013.

Shire of Irwin Finalist in 2013 Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards

We are proud to announce that the Shire of Irwin has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2013 Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards.

Finalists were announced at a dinner in Perth on 2 Oct.

Watch this space for an update on our success.

Gymnastics

The Irwin Rec is now taking registrations for Gymnastics in Term 4.Gymnastics will begin in week 2 of Term 4, on Monday 21 October.

Kidsport

Don’t forget that we are taking registrations for the Kidsport program for summer sport.

The scheme allows eligible youths, aged 5-18 years to apply for up to $200 a year per child towards club fees.
