Public Workshop for the Strategic Community Plan – This Thursday!

We need your help!

A reminder that all members of the Irwin Community are cordially invited and encouraged to attend a public workshop on Thursday 29 March 2012 at the Irwin Recreation Centre, Ridley Street, Port Denison between 5.00pm and 7.00pm to provide input into the development of the Shire's first Strategic Community Plan.

This independently-facilitated (i.e. free from Councillor and Staff involvement) Workshop has been structured to allow participants the option to attend according to their own needs whilst having the opportunity to have your say on how you would like to see the Irwin Community develop over the next 10 or more years. (You could attend for as short a time as 10 minutes or for the full 2 hours).

If you are unable to attend the Workshop, the online version of the related Community Survey is available for you to access through the Shire's website (www.irwin.wa.gov.au) or at the following URL: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ShireofIrwinStrategicCommunityPlan. Alternatively, a printed version of the survey has been sent to all local households and post office boxes. When completed, there is reply paid envelope to post the surveys back free of charge or there are deposit boxes at the Shire office and Irwin Rec.

Please contact Coralie on 9927 0000 for further details.

Shire Branding and New Website Launch – www.irwin.wa.gov.au

In August 2011, the Shire adopted a new corporate branding based around the three locations being Shire of Irwin, Dongara and Port Denison and a logo depiction of a stylised Moreton Bay Fig Tree, the Irwin River estuary and a positioning statement, "A Brilliant Blend".

Building on the theme of "A Brilliant Blend", "I am now pleased to advise that after months of hard work and effort, the Shire is ready to launch an exciting, easy-to-use and functional new website that provides as a fresh "online" office to match the Shire's new office building in Waldeck Street.

The official launch by the Deputy Shire President, Cr Kevin Hepworth, is planned for the Council meeting on Tuesday, 27 March 2012 and I invite you all to access the site at the normal address being www.irwin.wa.gov.au.

My thanks for a "job well done" go all the Shire staff involved in the development of the new website particularly the Shire's Executive Assistant, Coralie Palmer (and Anne McDonald prior to her leaving the Shire) and also Darren Lee, Sarah-Jane Collins, Andrea Dinse and all at Market Creations being the firm engaged by the Shire to develop and host the website.
