When the Shire took possession of Denison House some years ago it included a full size 12’ x 6’ snooker table (in poor condition) in one of the living rooms, which had to be dismantled and put into storage whilst the building was being privately rented.

Whilst in storage it is continuing to depreciate and Council is considering its options as to what to do with the table, including but not limited to:

• Dispose of the table in its current dismantled state,

• Have it reassembled and disposed of, or

• Have it reassembled and placed in a community facility for use by the community.

Information obtained from repairers suggest that to reassemble and restore the table it may cost between $7,500 and $12,500 and, if an interested buyer can be found, some or all of those funds may be recovered. The option of placing it in a community facility presents an issue of location. The table is large and very heavy and cannot be readily moved, that would likely mean that the facility could not be used for other purposes.

To assist Council in its deliberations the community is asked to provide comment or feedback in regards to these or other options, in writing, addressed to the CEO at or mailed to 11-13 Waldeck Street, DONGARA  WA  6525 by 12noon Monday, 3 October 2016.

Please contact Geoff Peddie, Director Corporate and Community on 9927 0000 or email for further information.
