After Hours Customer Service Call Centre

Since October 2012 the Shire’s Admin Centre after hours and off duty Ranger telephone calls have been handled by a specialist local government call centre, ensuring that all calls are handled appropriately and by a real person.

It is preferable that most telephone calls are received and handled by Shire staff during the Shire’s normal business hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (except for public holidays and notified operational need).

However outside of these times the call centre will automatically receive calls which will be assessed against the Shire’s own call handling standards and callers notified of the appropriate action that will be taken.

Please note that the call centre will not be able to transfer calls to specific staff members but if matters do require an immediate Shire response then the relevant staff member will be contacted directly by the call centre. Non-urgent or routine business will be referred to the Shire for action the next working day.

Staff Changes

On 10 October 2014 we will be bidding farewell to much loved employee Angela Davis. Angela is our Senior Customer Service Officer at the Visitors Centre who has been working for the Shire for 7 ½ years. We wish her all the best with her new role working for the Department of Transport in Joondalup.

On another note, we will have Mark Jones join the Shire team on 20 October 2014. Mark will fill the role of Leading Hand – Parks & Gardens. We look forward to him commencing with us!

Larry Lobster Festival – 15 November 2014

The Larry Lobster Festival is fast approaching and promises to be an exciting day for the whole family. With sideshow alley, plenty of games and entertainment as well as a large display of fireworks there is set to be something for everyone. This year a shuttle bus will be provided between Moreton Terrace and the Foreshore for anyone choosing to leave their car at home.

Please note that due to the festival, Point Leander Drive will be closed from the roundabout to Samuel Street as well as some portions of adjoining streets for part of the day.
