YAC Campout – 31 May 2014

Approximately 18 young adults turned up for the Campout event held on Saturday Night, 31 May 2014 at the Sun City Christian Centre. There was lots of loud music playing with basketball and soccer skills also on display. Following lots of laughs during a couple of movies, lights were out at 3am – what a great night!!

Thanks to Sarah & Russell Collins, Mim & local DJ Sammi Williams for providing supervision and entertainment for the night.

Also a big thanks to Mark from Sun City Church for the use of the hall and lastly again a huge thanks to Leanne & Stuart from Caltex for their ongoing support and kind donations of food, which was as always delicious and much enjoyed by those at the event!

We’re Taking It in Our Stride on Friday, 20 June 2014

Well it’s that time of year again when our school seriously starts talking about walking!

Walk Safely to School Day asks that we all consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. And although walking all the way to school isn’t realistic for many of us, it’s quite easy to figure out how you can build a walk into your family’s daily routine.

Join us on our annual Walk Safely to School Day walk. This year we are meeting at the park next to the town bridge, and will be taking in the scenic route along the river to the school.

When:                          Friday 20th June
Where:                         Meet at the park next to the town bridge
What time:                   Meet @ 8am for an 8:15am departure
What to bring:              Wet weather gear if it looks like rain, a positive attitude and a big smile

For more information please contact Kylie Bessen at the Irwin Recreation Centre 9955 9200 or David Ball at the school 9927 0100
