Dongara Public Library

The Dongara Public Library aims to provide a wide collection of items to meet the needs of the community of Dongara, Port Denison and surrounding areas. The items are updated regularly and come in the following formats:

  • Regular print books
  • Graphic novels and comics
  • Community Information
  • Large print books
  • Paperbacks
  • DVDs
  • Talking books (on MP3 and CD)
  • Newspapers

Library services are provided jointly by the State Library of Western Australia and the Shire of Irwin. The service provides informational, educational, recreational and cultural materials in a variety of formats to all age groups. Your local library is a link to all other service points within the State and through regular exchange of materials and inter-library loans, it provides access to over 2 million items of information.

Becoming a Member

To become a member of the Dongara Public Library, complete the Library Membership Form and supply photographic identification to our staff. Minimum borrower age is 12 years. 

eBooks

While travelling, your membership with the Library may be acceptable throughout the state in any Public Library, although you may need to provide your current drivers licence.

A range of eBooks are also available through the website or the BorrowBox App:

  • To access eBooks and eAudio through the website, go to http://library.bolindadigital.com/dongara
    • Sign into “BorrowBox” using the 14 digit ID number found on the back of your Library card for both the barcode and password (if you have a 4 digit ID number try adding ten 0’s in front of it).
  • BorrowBox app: install the app on your device, select “Dongara Library” and then enter your 14 digit ID number from the back of your Library card for both the barcode and password.
  • See or call our friendly Staff for further assistance with logging in.

Donations

The Dongara Public Library accepts book and DVD donations, as long as their physical condition is good. The Library reserves the right to place donations that are not needed on the Free Stand.

Public Use Computer

The Dongara Public Library has one public use computer available, with a time limit of one hour. The computer provides internet access and printing facilities for a fee.
