Proposed Ocean Current Monitoring Infrastructure  

Reserve 38046 (South Beach), Port Denison

The Shire of Irwin is in receipt of a Development Application for oceanographic infrastructure on Reserve 38046 (South Beach), Port Denison and public comments are invited. The proposed infrastructure is being installed by the University of Western Australia and will collect data over a three-year period to develop a strong current warning system. The application includes two antennae: a transmitter 9m in height, a receiver 6m in height, and an equipment shelter of approximately 10m2. All infrastructure will be removed at the conclusion of the study.
