Tidy Towns Sustainable Committee

The Tidy Towns Sustainable Committee provides leadership in the field of litter prevention and reduction, and environmental sustainability. The Committee aim to change littering behaviours by developing community programs, promoting education, interest, pride and sense of ownership in the appearance of:

  • Streets, verges and roadsides;
  • Parks;
  • Public open spaces; and
  • Private gardens.

Smart Living Guidelines

The Shire of Irwin’s Green Infrastructure Strategy advocates development of Smart Living Guidelines. These guidelines aim to encourage our community to reduce water usage, energy consumption and waste within the household and to enhance biodiversity within the urban environment. Weed Management

Pest Plants

The Tidy Towns Sustainable Committee have formed advice notes to provide advice on the management and control of Pest Plants within the Shire of Irwin. These Pest Plants include:

  • Golden Crownbeard / Dongara Daisy;
  • African Boxthorn;
  • African Love Grass; and
  • Walkaway Burr.

Integrated Weed Management Plan
