Integrated Planning Framework
The 10+ year Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan are required to meet recent changes to the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996.
The legislative amendments require all local governments in Western Australia to have adopted a Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan by 30 June 2013.
The Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan are intended to drive the development of the annual budget and will become the Shire's principal strategic documents demonstrating measurable linkages between community aspirations, financial capacity and practical service delivery.
The 10+ year Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan will deliver the following outcomes:
- a long term strategic community plan that links community aspirations with the council's vision;
- a corporate business plan that integrates resourcing plans with the strategic community plan; and
- a vision for the future viability of the local government area linked to the annual budget
The Department of Local Government has published an Integrated Planning and Reporting Advisory Standard, Framework and Guidelines to guide how these documents must be prepared, in line with the amended regulations.
UHY Haines Norton (WA) Pty Ltd has been contracted by the Shire of Irwin to provide business planning and advisory services and assist the Shire to prepare these documents.
The Shire of Irwin is encouraging residents and business owners to get involved in planning for its future, calling for community participation in the development of the Shire's 10+ year Strategic Community Plan.
This is an exciting opportunity for each and every member of the community to have their say and share their vision for the future of Irwin.
