Current and further information on the Dongara Public Library can be accessed by visiting our new dedicated website for Visitor Centre, Licensing and Library Services www.dongaraportdenison.com.au

The Dongara Public Library aims to provide a library of excellence to meet the needs of the community of Irwin and surrounding Shires.

The building was originally built to accommodate the Dongara Post Office and Telephone Exchange, but was changed to the Dongara Library in 1989, when the Post Office was relocated.

Construction of the building commenced in 1894 by Builder, WH Linthorne and the Architect was George Temple Poole.

The main area of the Library houses the Adult Non-Fiction and reference materials, with other rooms set aside for our Junior Collection and the Adult Fiction and Video Library.
