Council's Community Development Officer provides a positive link between Council and community groups, whilst working proactively with residents, community groups and other interested individuals throughout the Shire of Irwin area.
The Community Development Officer prepares grant applications and acquittals for Council and will assist community organisations under the auspice of Council. Our aim is for the community and Council to work together to improve the range of community facilities, services and infrastructure which are necessary to deliver both quality of lifestyles and new opportunities for employment and growth.

The Shire's Community Development area, in simple terms, aims to assist the community to reach its potential through the use of community development principles and practice.
Some areas of involvement include: Seniors, Youth Development, Arts and Culture, Tourism, Community funding, Community Safety and Crime Prevention and Volunteers.

Coordinate and assist various community events.
Promote Dongara/Denison as a great place to live and visit through various events and media.
